Family Style Dining
The red and white checkered tablecloths of the Union Hotel’s Dining Room, with its walls lined with vintage photographs, remind our guests of how deep the area’s Italian roots grow. The old wood building still contains its original details, such as antique coat hooks, table side service-bell buttons and redwood framing.
Guests come from as far away as San Francisco and Sacramento for our fine Italian food and no one leaves hungry. They return again and again for our homemade ravioli, succulent roast chicken, and famous pasta. The Union Hotel’s original family recipes can be enjoyed at lunch and dinner seven days a week.
New Union Hotel Restaurant
The newest Union Hotel Restaurant is now open in East Santa Rosa. Come visit us at 280 Mission Blvd. Our new restaurant includes a full bar and a morning cafe. Call 707 538-6000 for more information.
Pizzerias
The Union Hotel’s delicious homemade Italian pizzas can be enjoyed at our original Occidental location and at the Union Hotel West in Santa Rosa’s G & G Shopping Center, and at our New Santa Rosa EastLocation on Mission Blvd.
Our pizzerias use only fresh dough and sauces topped with garden vegetables, generous helpings of cheese and delicious meats. The Union Hotel's spicy Italian sausage and creamy garlic sauce have quickly become classic house specialties. Our guests can also enjoy homemade ravioli, shrimp pasta, 24 oz. Porterhouse steaks and freshly baked desserts.
The Occidental pizzeria serves a wide selection of beer and wine from a huge antique bar which adds its own piece of history. The solid mahogany bar came from England around Cape Horn to San Francisco on a sailing ship. It survived the Great Earthquake of 1906 and was given by the Acme Brewing Company to the Falstaff Hotel on Front Street, where it stood during the City’s infamous Barbary Coast days. Famed San Francisco Chronicle columnist Herb Caen and other bay area writers have written of the Occidental Pizzeria’s huge old bar and its colorful history.
Bakery Café
Sunlight streams through large, lace-curtained windows overlooking the patio. Customers sink into their conversations, newspapers, or thoughts as the sweet aroma of savory homemade muffins, breads, and desserts mingles with the hearty scent of fresh coffees. The warm and welcoming country-morning atmosphere of the Bakery/Cafe draws many locals from 6 a.m. on.
Open since 1989, our Bakery/Café is best-known for its heavenly gourmet desserts. Our classic apple pie, crisp biscotti, creamy cheesecake, and rich chocolate mousse pie offer such incredible flavors and delicate textures that, after tasting them, customers return again and again.
We also provide "the best cup of coffee this side of the Mediterranean," including freshly-brewed espresso, cappuccino, cafe latte, and cafe mocha. The counter, made of hand-carved redwood, and the turn-of-the-century brass relief cash register, give an old-time ambiance in keeping with the rest of the hotel.
Banquet Facilities
Families and large groups have been celebrating their special occasions at the Union Hotel for decades. The Dining Room and adjoining Bocce Ballroom can host small parties of only a dozen or large groups of more than 200 friends, business associates or organization members. A small permanent stage can accommodate speakers and musicians. Contact us to find out how we can make your next event affordable and enjoyable.
Mediterranean Courtyard
Enjoy Sonoma County’s sunny days, dining outdoors in our Mediterranean Courtyard, amongst red brick, brilliant flowers and a stately wrought iron fence. This picturesque setting is enhanced by a 15 ft cast iron clock which stands near the gate like a sentinel watching over the courtyard. The clock, an original landmark from Santa Rosa, is pictured in historical photographs positioned in front of Hood Jewelers on Courthouse Square as early as 1903.
